Prize Fest

A 5-round Swiss. Two Sections.

Registration: 6-7pm. Rounds start at 7pm.

Higher-Rated Section (over 1600): 1st Place $200, 2nd Place $100, 3rd Place $50
Lower-Rated Section (under 1600): 1st Place $200, 2nd Place $100, 3rd Place $50

Shortest Game (winner), $25
Longest Game, $25
Quickest Mate (winner), $25
Highest Performance Rating Gain, $25 -- Must play all 5 games
Oldest Player, $25
Biggest Upset, $25
Youngest Player, $25
Fewest Moves for Total of All Games, $25 -- Must play all 5 games

Time control: Game/120.

Byes: One half-point bye may be taken.  An irrevocable last round half-point bye is allowed only if declared before the first round starts.
 

The Two-Rounder
A 2-round open tournament of accelerated pairings (both rounds).

Registration: 6-7pm. Rounds start at 7pm.

The 4th Annual Undisputed Milky Way Championships

A 5-round Swiss in one section.

 Prizes:

1st Place $75 (+ trophy and title of “The Undisputed Champion of the Milky Way”)
2nd Place $50, 3rd Place $30, U1900 Trophy, U1700 Trophy, U1500 Trophy and U1300 Trophy

Biggest Space Advantage (of the tournament) $20 (submit diagram of position, highest rated player judges)

Best Nova (anyone that owns and drives a Chevy Nova to the tournament) $20 (limited to first to claim)

Best Alien (highest score of person not from Earth, must have documentation) $8.25

Shooting Star (the person who gains the most rating points in the tournament) $10 (as computed by Mike’s computer (not USCF’s).

Byes: One  half-point bye may be taken.  An irrevocable last round half-point bye is allowed only if declared before the first round starts.
