The La Palma Chess Club schedule

Entry Fee

One $25 entry fee entitles you to play in the 2-month tournament session. Alternatively, the entry fee for one of the events is $18. A $5 discount for La Palma residents applies to either option.

Tournament Details


Friday Knight Fever

A 4-round Swiss in one section.

Registration: 6-7pm. Rounds start 7pm.

Prizes: There will be an assortment of prizes available to the winners. At 7pm on the week after the tournament. The prize winners will pick their prizes from an array of prizes (books, boards, bags, scorebooks, etc.) in the order below:

1st place: (first pick). 2nd place (second pick), the remaining prizes picked in the order of a roll of dice: Best U1900, U1700, U1500, U1300, Knightclub Prize (Shortest mate with a Knight. If unclaimed, prize will be raffled), Knightlife Prize (Most under promotions to a knight for the tournament.  If unclaimed, prize will be raffled)

Time control for both sections: Game/120

Byes: One half-point bye may be taken. An irrevocable last round half-point bye is allowed only if declared before the first round starts.
 

New Hampshire Open

A 4-round Swiss in one section.

Registration: 6-7pm. Rounds start 7pm.

Prizes: 1st place: $50. 2nd place $25. Trophies to Best U2000, U1800, U1600, U1400, and U1200.

Time control for both sections: Game/120

Byes: One half-point bye may be taken. An irrevocable last round half-point bye is allowed only if declared before the first round starts.
