One $41 entry fee entitles you to play in a 3-month tournament session. $5 discount for La Palma residents.

Tournament Details
Fischerandomish Swiss
6-round Swiss 1 section The first round (only) will
use Fischerandom rules (rounds 2-6 uses standard rules). The first round (the
Fischerandom game) will not be rated (it is played only to determine the
pairings for the first rated round). If you don’t play the first round, you will
automatically receive a half-point bye for the pairing of the first round. The
Fischerandom rules will be explained before the 1st round begins. Prizes:
Prizes: 1st Place $75, 2nd 50, 3rd $30, trophies best U2000, U1800, U1600,
U1400 Special Prizes: $25 for the best score by a player born in Antarctica. $25
for the winner of any Gambit going over 200 moves.
Time control: Game/120.
Byes: One half-point bye may be taken. An irrevocable last round half-point bye is allowed only if declared before the first round starts.
Quick Fix
An 8-round Swiss in one section. A Quick Chess event with all
rounds in one night.
Registration:
6-7pm. Rounds start at 7pm.
Prizes: Winner $20, winner determined by best performance rating gain
(unrated must win outright) as determined by the computer.
Time control: Game/10.
Byes: ??.
The 2nd Annual Undisputed Milky Way Championships
A 6-round Swiss in two sections.
Registration: 6-7pm. Rounds start at 7pm.
Sections and Prizes:
Galactic Section (over 1550*): 1st $75 (+ trophy and title of “The
Undisputed Champion of the Milky Way”), 2nd $50, 3rd $30, U1900 Trophy, U1700

Earth Section (under 1550*): 1st $25 + Trophy, 2nd $20 + Trophy,
3rd - $15 + Trophy, U1600 Trophy, U1400 Trophy
* If you are rated exactly 1550 you can choose the section you want to play
in.
Biggest Space Advantage (of the tournament) $20 (submit diagram of position,
highest rated player judges)
Best Nova (anyone that owns and drives a Chevy Nova to the tournament) $20
(limited to first to claim)
Best Alien (highest score of person not from Earth, must have documentation)
$8.25
Big Dipper (the person who loses the most rating points in the tournament) $10
(as computed by Mike’s computer (not USCF’s)).
