Entry Fee

One $41 entry fee entitles you to play in a 3-month tournament session. Alternatively, the entry fee for only one event of the 3-month session is $25. A $5 discount for La Palma residents applies to either option.

Tournament Details


Once A Pawn A Time

 A 6-round Swiss in one section.

Registration: 6-7pm. Rounds start 7pm.

Prizes:  1st place: $75. Trophies to Best U1900, 1700, U1500, U1300.

Time control for both sections: Game/120

Byes: One half-point bye may be taken. An irrevocable last round half-point bye is allowed only if declared before the first round starts. Interplanetary Byes not available.
 

Cheese Swiss

 A 6-round Swiss in two sections. The field will be divided in half by ratings. This cutting of the cheese, as it were, will take place at 7pm. Subsequent entries will be fit into the section most fitting their rating.

Sections and Prizes.

The Big Cheeses:
1st $50, 2nd $40, 3rd $30, U2000 Trophy, U1850 Trophy, U1700 Trophy

Low Fat Section:
1st $25 + Trophy, 2nd $20 + Trophy, 3rd $15 + Trophy, U1400 Trophy, U1250 Trophy, U1100/Unrated Trophy

Brilliancy Prize (of both sections) $20 -- Donated by Mr. Robert Escalante

Shortest game (of both sections) $20

Time control: Game/120
