One $40 entry fee entitles you to play in a 3-month tournament session.  $5 discount for La Palma residents.

Tournament Details


Jack B. Quick No. 2

An 8-round Swiss, Quick Chess, (all rounds in one night).

Registration: 6-7pm. Rounds start 7pm. Prizes: Winner $20, winner determined by computer, best performance rating gain (unrated must win outright).

Time control: G/10

 

Knights of the Rectangular Tables No. 2

A 6-round Swiss in two sections. Anyone can enter either section.

GM Section:
1st $$75, 2nd $$50, 3rd $$30, U2000 Trophy, U1800 - Trophy, U1600 - Trophy

Non-GM Section:
1st $$25 + Trophy, 2nd $$20 + Trophy, 3rd - $15 + Trophy, U1700 Trophy, U1500 Trophy, U 1300 Trophy

Biggest Upset (of both sections) $20

Time control for both sections: Game/120

Byes: One half-point bye may be taken. An irrevocable last round half-point bye is allowed only if declared before the first round starts. Interplanetary Byes not available.

A 6-round Swiss. A Grand Prix Event (20 GP Points)

Prizes:

• 1st Place $750 Winner take all.  If there is a tie score for 1st place, then one player will win the entire $750 prize based on tiebreak.

• 2nd Place $300.  If there is a tie for 1st Place, the players that lose the tiebreak will equally share the 2nd Place prize money.

• 1st U2000: $200 (split equally if tie), 1st U1800: $100 (split equally if there is a tie) Trophies: Best "C", "D", and "E"/Unrated

• Best Game (as judged by IM Jack Peters) $50.

• Highest Rating Gain (as judged by Swiss Sys Computer) Prize $50 + trophy.

• $250 prize will be awarded to every player that achieves a perfect score!
