The La Palma Chess Club schedule
Spring 2005 (April 1 though June 24)
One $35 entry fee entitles you to play in a 3-month tournament session. $5 discount for La Palma residents.
All tournament games played at LPCC count toward LPCC's Beat Your Norm Grand Prix to be awarded June 24.

What has 100 years of the theory done for chess? A 5-round Swiss in two sections.
Fritz section: limited to the 6 highest rated entrants plus lower rated challengers willing to pay $5 extra, and late entrants rated at or above the original 6.
Prizes: 1st place: $100 plus all buy-in payments from lower rated challengers.
Einstein section: open to all other entrants rated lower than the top 6.
Prizes: trophies to 1st overall, 1st B, 1st C, and 1st D/E/Unr.
Both sections:
Time controls: TBD (Game/120 if every likes that from the Winter 2005 session, or classic time controls, or some combination).
Byes: One half-point bye may be taken. A irrevocable last round half-point bye is allowed only if declared before the first round starts.
Trophy tiebreaks: Cumulative, Solkoff, or combined rated of opposition.
Special prize for worst hair cut in the final round..

Been Dere, Dun Dat Double Quad
A 6-round double quad with 4-person groups based on rating.
Prizes: $50 1st in each section.

Summer Scrounger Nights and Quad Make-up Games
Two rounds of scrounger-paired games. See scrounger rules here.
Also, these nights can be used to make-up games delayed from the double quad.
Prizes: Honor and glory of being the best scrounger.
