For all of our 2013 tournament games we will be awarding La Palma Grand Prix (GP) points.
The purpose of this is to reward our most frequent participants and most winning players.
Points awarded: 3 points for a win, 2 points for a draw, 1 point for a loss.
Eligible games: all LPCC tournament games (Swiss, ladder tournaments, quadrangular
tournaments) played in 2013.
Eligible players: all players entered in the tournament in which that game is played. A house
player who is not entered in that tournament cannot earn GP points.
Prizes: For Class A and higher players: $50 first, $25 second.
For Class B and below players: $50 first, $25 second.
Ratings: The ratings to be used for prize awards will be the ratings held by the player as of
December 31, 2013.
Forfeited games: A forfeit win will be awarded 3 points. A forfeit loss will be awarded 0
points.
Byes: A 1-point bye (as awarded when there are an uneven number or players) will be given
3 points. A ½-point bye will be awarded 2 points. A zero point bye will be awarded 0 points.
Standings: GP point standings will be posted from time to time at the club, and on our
website.
Prize award date: The Grand Prix prizes will be awarded after the last tournament round of
2013 (Dec. 27, 2013).
