Winter Session 2015 (Jan. 2 through Mar. 27, 2015)
Entry Fee
$45 for the session (includes all three tournaments). Or, $20 for Quick Chess Night; $40 for The 8th Milky Way Championship; and $35 for the Fork and Skewer Chess BBQ. All fees $5 less for La Palma residents.

Quick Chess Night
A 3–round quadrangular tournament in one night
Prizes: Special prize for each quad winner and ties
Registration: 6-7 p.m. Rounds start at 7 p.m.
Time control: Game/24, d/5

Byes: None
The 8th Milky Way Championship
A 7-round Swiss in one section.
Registration: 6-7 p.m. Rounds start at 7 p.m.
Prizes:
1st place: $75;
2nd, $50;
3rd, $30
Special prizes for best under 1700, best under 1500, and best under 1300
Black Hole prize for the biggest space advantage
Voyager II prize for the biggest rating gain
Time control: Game/1:55, d/5
Byes: Two half-point byes may be taken. An irrevocable last round half-point bye is allowed only if declared before the first round starts.
The Fork and Skewer Chess BBQ
5–round Swiss in two sections
Sections:
The Choice Cuts (10 highest rated players plus additional late entrants whose ratings are in this bracket)
The Leftovers (all others)
Prizes:
Choice Cuts section: 1st place, $75; 2nd $50
Leftovers section:
1st place, $50
Special prizes for best under 1600 and best under 1300
“Well Done” prize for the biggest upset by an under 1600 rated player,
$20
Combined sections:
Special Kabob prize for the juiciest winning skewer
