Summer Session 2015 (June 19 through August 28, 2015)
Entry Fee
$45 for the session (includes all four tournaments). Or, $10 for the Not Las Vegas Night; $40 for The Star Trek & Mate; $25 for the Jack Peters Simul; and $35 for the Chess Trifecta. All fees $5 less for La Palma residents.

The Not Las Vegas Night
A 1-round ladder match tournament.
Prizes:
Special prize for each win.
Registration: 6-7 p.m. Rounds start at 7 p.m.
Time control: Game/1:55, d/5
Byes: None.
The Star Trek Check and Mate
A 5-round Swiss in two sections. LPCC will be closed July 3.
Registration: 6-7 p.m. Rounds start at 7 p.m.
Sections:
The Vulcan Section: 12 highest rated players plus any late entrants whose ratings are in this bracket.
The Human Section: All others.
Prizes, both sections: 1st. place, $80; 2nd. place, $40.
Special prizes, either section:
Assimilation Executed Prize for the most devastating win.
Beam Me Up Scotty Award to each player whose rating gain in the tournament raises him or her to the next class (e.g., C to B)
Time control: Game/1:55, d/5
Byes: One half-point bye may be taken. An irrevocable last round half-point bye is allowed only if declared before the first round starts.
IM Jack Peters Simultaneous Exhibition and Lecture
International Master Jack Peters will give a lecture on chess, and then simultaneously play all challengers, up to a limit of 35 players. Anyone who wins or draws his or her game against Jack will win a special prize.
Chess Trifecta
3–round Swiss in three sections.
Sections:
Sections grouped by rating.
Prizes:
1st. place: $50 each section
2nd. place: $20 each section
Perfect 3-0 score: $30 any section.
Special prizes: biggest rating gain, quickest checkmate.
Registration: 6-7 p.m. Rounds start at 7 p.m.
Time control: Game/1:55, d/5
Byes: None.
