Fall Session 2017
(August 4 through October 27, 2017)
Entry Fee
Subject to capacity limitations, tournaments can be entered individually. All fees $5 less for La Palma residents.
If you want to play only in only the Ladder Match on Sept. 1, the cost is $5 (+ $5 for non residents). If you register for the Hunt Memorial, your $40 fee (+$5 for non residents) entitles you to play all nine Fridays -- The Ladder Match and the Hunt Memorial.

IM Jack Peters Simultaneous Exhibition and Lecture
International Master Jack Peters will give a lecture and then simultaneously play all
challengers, up to a limit of 35 players.
If you are enrolled in the entire Fall program and wish to play in this, please reserve a board.
Registration: 6-7 p.m. Lecture starts at 7 p.m.
Prizes: Any one who wins or draws against Jack
will win a special prize.
The Dabster Chronicals
A 3-round Swiss in three sections.
Sections:
Expert (1850+), Bungler (1601 - 1849), Patzer (1600 or under)
Prizes, each section:
1st. place $50, 2nd $25
Special prizes: Best game, Biggest Upset.
Registration: 6:00 - 6:30 p.m. Rounds start at 7 p.m.
Time control: Game/1:55, d/5
Byes: None
Warm Up Ladder Match
A one-round ladder match tournament. Six players minimum.
Registration: 6:00 - 6:30 p.m. Rounds start at 7 p.m.
Prizes: Special prize for each winner.
Time control: Game/1:55, d/5
Byes: None
3rd Annual Leigh Hunt Memorial
Remembering our late tournament director and one of our top players. An 8-round Swiss in one section.
Registration: 6:00 - 6:30 p.m. Rounds start at 7 p.m.
Prizes:
1st. $400
2nd. $200
3rd. $100
Perfect 8-0 Score: $100
First Class A, B, C, D and under: $50 each.
Best game: $50 as judged by IM Jack Peters
Best sacrifice: $200
as judged by IM Jack Peters
Special prizes for Biggest Upset and each player whose rating gain advances him or her to a
higher class.
Time control: Game/1:55, d/5
Byes: Two half-point byes may be taken. An irrevocable last round half-point bye is allowed only if declared before the first round starts.
