Tournament Details (Summer session)
Get Bent, Larsen
A 6-round Swiss in two sections, June 17 through July 22, commemorating the
40th anniversary of Bobby Fischer's 6 - 0 match play sweep of Bent Larsen.
Forty years ago this July in the candidate's match leading to the world championship
Fischer stunned the chess world with a perfect score.
Upper Section:
The upper section will be the higher rated 50% of entrants, and any late entrants
who would have qualified for this section.
Prizes: 1st. $125; 2nd, $75; and 3rd, $30.
Bonus prize: $50 for a perfect 6 - 0 score.
Lower Section:
All others.
Prizes: 1st, $75; 2nd, $40; Under 1600 trophy; and Under 1400 trophy.
Bonus prize: $50 for a perfect 6 - 0 score.
Combined Section Prizes: Trophies for biggest upset and
quickest win.
Time control: Game/120.
Byes: One half-point bye may be taken. An irrevocable last round
half-point bye is allowed only if declared before the first round starts.
Shah Mat in August
A 5-round swiss in one section July 29 through August 26.
Registration: 6-7pm. Rounds start at 7pm.
Prizes: 1st Place $75, 2nd Place $40, and trophies for best U1800,
U1600, U1400, and biggest upset.
Time control: Game/120
Byes: One half-point bye may be taken. An irrevocable last round half-point
bye is allowed only if declared before the first round starts.
